More about my album "This"

About one year after I recorded "People Like You," I got the chance to record again; this time in an actual studio...and I could hardly wait!

At the time, my parents were living in Indonesia and I was taking care of their home in Madison, WI. I was cleaning chimneys for a living, which gave me quite a bit of free time while earning good money, and the rest of my time I spent recording "This" album.

"This" was very a very different experience than recording "People Like You." I had to get used to working with others -- an engineer, and other musicians. I found this very challenging at times, but meeting the challenge was, as it always is, a good growing experience. I really felt like a kid in a candy store -- in the studio was a hammond organ, a piano, lots of percussion, and...a synthesizer! Wow!

I decided to do new versions of 4 songs from "People Like You." These I thought had the best potential of getting record labels interested in my music. Of course, I was very innocent (as most twenty-somethings are) and nothing ever happened in that regard. However, it was a fun dream to entertain for a while! (by the way, I had no idea that a sea urchin -- that which I'm holding on the cover -- can be poisonous!)

Anyway, I certainly do hope that you enjoy "This."
